- How do I add a WhatsApp button to my website?
- Paste the HTML snippet into a page that accepts HTML. Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, and a plain HTML file all work. The snippet is a link and CSS. It does not load an outside script or a paid widget.
- What number should I enter?
- Enter the full number with the country code, such as +1 415 555 0100. You can include spaces, dashes, or parentheses. The link keeps the digits only, which is what wa.me expects. If the local number starts with 0, drop that 0 after the country code. +44 07700 900123 should be +44 7700 900123.
- Can the button open a chat with a message already written?
- Yes. The prefilled message is added to the wa.me link. The visitor can change it before they send. Leave the field blank if you want an empty chat.
- Will a floating button stay in the corner on Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress?
- On a plain HTML page, and in a WordPress Custom HTML block, the floating button uses fixed positioning and stays in the corner while the page scrolls. In the Wix Editor, Embed HTML places your snippet in a frame, so the button stays inside that frame. Use Custom Code in the body for a floating button on a Wix site. On Squarespace, a code block is for a button in the page, and code injection is the site-wide option. Code injection depends on your plan.
- Can I show the button on phones only?
- Yes. Turn on Show on mobile only. The snippet hides the button on screens 768px and wider. After you publish, check the page on a phone and on a desktop, because some site builders remove style tags.
- Does ScubaDock already include a WhatsApp button?
- Yes. Every ScubaDock site has a WhatsApp button built in. You add the shop number and the button is on the site. You do not need this snippet for that. Pricing is $99 a month, and the setup steps are on the how it works page.
